Wretch

The Wretch is a blind entity that tracks players using sound and a radar-like sense. It appears in Level 6 (Lights Out) and Level 9 (Darkened Suburbs).

• Completely blind — navigates by sound and proximity detection.
• Appears as a red dot on your LiDAR scanner in Level 6.
• Moves toward any sound: footsteps, door opening, items dropping.
• Extremely fast once it locks onto a target.
• In Level 9, there are 6 Wretches hunting you simultaneously.

• Crouch walk everywhere — crouching drastically reduces the noise you make.
• Use the LiDAR scanner in Level 6 to track its red dot. Stay on the opposite side of walls.
• Hug walls — staying close to walls reduces your detection radius.
• Lock doors behind you in Level 9 — Wretches can enter unlocked doors.
• Don't sprint — sprinting is extremely loud and will attract every Wretch in the area.
• Listen for breathing — heavy breathing indicates a Wretch is nearby.
